P.O. Box 10572, Westminster, CA 92685

The Orange County Cop Bowl originated in 1978, when a group of police officers organized to play football and raise money for needy kids. The game pitted two teams comprised of police officers from throughout Orange County who played for and donated the proceeds to organizations designed to help needy kids of Orange County. These officers subsequently formed the Orange County Cop Bowl Association, a 501c3 Non-Profit Organization (Tax ID # 95-384-2787). The Association was responsible for organizing the annual Cop Bowl and distributing the proceeds and donations generated by the event to designated charitable organizations.

What began as an annual event of approximately 50 officers has evolved into one team, the Orange County Lawmen. The Lawmen play five games against like teams from across the nation. Like the Lawmen, these teams are members of the National Public Safety Football League. The NPSFL is made up of fifteen teams nationwide, whose players are members of law enforcement, firefighters, and other professional public safety employees playing the game to raise money for their respective charities.

The Orange County Cop Bowl Association has since established a memorial scholarship fund. This scholarship fund is designed to assist deserving student athletes of Orange County who are otherwise unable to obtain scholarships. These scholarships are presented on behalf of Bob Henry, Hank Oviedo, and Gene Stuckenschneider, who have passed away. In addition to the scholarships awarded each year, the Association donates money to help support other youth and school programs throughout the county. Today, as they have from its inception, the law enforcement personnel, firefighters, and other professional public safety employees who play for the Lawmen do so on their own time and at their own risk. The dedicated public safety professionals and civilian assistants who serve on the board of directors of the Orange County Cop Bowl Association also do so on their own time. .

Over the past 32 years, the Orange County Cop Bowl Association has successfully raised over one million dollars for numerous youth and school programs in Orange County. The Association is focused on continuing this great tradition and assisting as many kids as possible. However, to do so we need your help. Proceeds generated from game attendance, merchandise sales, and other fundraisers make up a small portion of the monies donated by the Association. Substantial portions of our annual donations come from sponsorships contributed by corporations and businesses, such as yours.

On behalf of the Orange County Cop Bowl Association and the kids of Orange County, thank you for your time and consideration. We need your support. Please help your Law Enforcement and Firefighter Athletes help kids achieve their goals.
